Walk and Talk

Tuesday, March 6th, 1:00 p.m - 2:00 p.m.

Join us for an eight-week series presented by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. 
Let's take little steps together towards a more vibrant and energetic life! Join us as we get moving with low impact chair exercises and discuss easy ways to add nutritious foods to our meals. Food tastings and prizes will be given at some of the sessions. This is a free program!

*Note: If the weather permits, we have the option to walk to and around Soldier Spring Park for the exercise portion of the program. Series runs every Tuesday, January 16th - March 6th, at 1:00 - 2:00  p.m.

Teams must register by 7:00 pm.

This isn’t your kid’s spelling bee!

Compete as a team of 2 - 5 standing alone on the stage. Winning team will advance to multi-library bee to compete against other cities’ winners.

Romance in Bloom Author Event at Chandor Gardens

Thursday, March 29th, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

WPL is excited to present 7 DFW-area romance authors for this event at the beautiful Chandor Gardens. Where better to celebrate romance! 

New York Times bestselling author Lori Wilde will be our speaker for the evening. 

Authors attending the event: Kathleen Baldwin, Kellie Coates Gilbert, Patience Griffin, Lorraine Heath, Roni Loren, Becky Wade, and Lori Wilde. 

You will then have the chance to talk with the authors and get your books signed. Books will be for sale for all authors, or you are welcome to bring books from your own collection. This event is free, and no purchase is necessary to attend.

Grown-Up Recess Image

Grown-up Recess

Every second Thursday of the month.

Next Meeting: Thursday, March 8th, 6:00-7:30 pm.

Coloring for Grown Ups has a new name and a new format. Starting in December, on the 2nd Thursday evening of each month, Grown-Up Recess will offer coloring, board games, and other activities for ages 18 and older. 

Why should kids have all the fun? Join us at the library for a fun night of coloring, board games, etc. The library will provide coloring supplies, a variety of games, and light refreshments. Feel free to bring your own coloring supplies or board games!

Every third Tuesday of the month

Next Meeting: Tuesday, March 20th, 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm.

The Needlework group is a great way to meet fellow crafters who enjoy crochet, embroidery, knitting, or any other type of hand work. Share ideas and hone skills. Open to all ages and skill levels. Just bring your own materials (yarn, needles/hooks).

Join us on the fourth Tuesday of every month for a book discussion and bagels (please note location below). It’s a chance to share your thoughts on a book of your choosing that follows our theme for the month, and you will learn new titles to add to your must read list.
