- How You Can Help
WPCAS is in the middle of rebuilding our volunteer program, but there are many things to do. To volunteer at the Animal Shelter, you must be at least 16 years of age and have a clear criminal history. Volunteering at the animal shelter consists of walking dogs, taking photographs, bathing, grooming, offsite adoptions and other various tasks the volunteer would be interested in doing.
The goal of the volunteer program is to assist the shelter in getting animals adopted. The goal is not cheap labor. Volunteers are not made to do anything they don't want to, but all volunteers do have to adhere to the shelter guidelines found in the Volunteer Manual.
If interested in becoming a volunteer please click on the link below. This takes you to our Volunteer software, Better Impact. Once you have completed your application please come in to the shelter to fill out a background check and a liability waiver. There is a $5 fee for the background check. Both of these are needed to become a registered volunteer.
