How do I obtain public information or records?
To activate the Open Records Act you must submit a written request to the Office of the City Secretary. For your convenience, you may complete our online Public Information Request form and fax it to the city secretary at 817-598-4115.

May I speak to the mayor?
You may contact the mayor by phone through the Office of the City Manager at 817-598-4102.

How do I address city council at a formal meeting?
A maximum of thirty minutes will be devoted to receiving comments from the public for topics not listed on the agenda. Each speaker is limited to 1 presentation per meeting with a maximum timed limit of 3 minutes. No formal council action is permitted under the Texas Open Meetings law for the items discussed in this section of the agenda. Comments are also welcome on items listed on the current agenda. Citizens wishing to address council during a meeting should complete the appropriate speaker card prior to the start of each meeting.

Who is my city council member?
Weatherford is a home rule city with a City Manager form of government. Citizens are represented by a council at large.
5.
How do I get a copy of the minutes from a meeting?
Once approved by their respective boards, the minutes are available on the City’s website or in the Office of the City Secretary.
6.
How can I get an item placed on a city council agenda?
Contact a city council member or the city manager’s office to discuss potential agenda items.
7.
How do I file a liability claim?
Contact the city secretary.
