Accelerated Reader Bookfinder
If you are interested in points for the Accelerated Reader program, or if you would like to get an idea of what grade level the book your child is reading, this is a great free resource. A description of the plot is also provided.

Common Sense Media Book Lists
Several free booklists at this website are based on topic or age level. More Best Lists for entertainment are also available, and reviews by children and parents provide ideas on content appropriateness of titles.
Sarah MacKenzie, author of The Read-Aloud Family, encourages homeschoolers in reading aloud to their children. Booklists are available for free as a large PDF file, or view the individual booklists by topic and request a copy by e-mail. Her blog and podcasts are also free, but you can upgrade to a premium membership that includes book clubs, master classes, a resource library, and more.
