Clog Free Season

Fats, oils, and grease from the busy holiday cooking time can be hard on pipes and sewer systems.  Buttery foods, gravy, frosting, dough, oil residues, and creamy soups can cause backups and build up in the pipes.  When fats, oils, and grease get poured down the sink, it sticks and hardens to the inner walls of sewer pipes and over time results in a clogged pipe.  Clogged pipes can result in sewer backup and spills, create environmental problems, cause road closures or even flood homes and businesses. Damage from sewer overflows can be costly and inconvenient.  The City of Weatherford Water Utilities Dept. provides the following tips for handling fats, oils and grease.
