Chris Crawford was appointed Deputy Chief of Police in April 2017. Deputy Chief Crawford started his law enforcement career in May 1992 with the Mineral Wells Police Department. He later went to work for the Weatherford Police Department in October 1997.
Over the course of his career he as worked in a variety of capacities, such as Patrol Officer, Crime Prevention, School Resource Officer, Detective, Administrative Sergeant/Lieutenant, Professional Standards and TPCA Best Practices Agency Coordinator. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Tarleton State University. He has also attended the nationally recognized FBI National Academy, class #230 in Quantico, Virginia in 2007. Deputy Chief Crawford is a member of the Texas Police Chief’s Association, Texas Municipal Police Association, FBI National Academy Associates and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
