Greg Lance

Deputy Chief Greg Lance started his career with WPD on January 5th, 1989.

Since that time he worked in a variety of capacities, such as Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Mounted Patrol, Narcotics Investigator, Patrol Corporal, Detective, Patrol Sergeant, School Resource Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, Administrative Captain, Patrol and Special Services Commander, and currently Deputy Chief of Police. He also served in numerous part-time assignments such as SWAT, Bike Patrol, Lake Patrol, Crime Stoppers and Advanced Accident Team.

Before his career with WPD, he was a lifelong resident of Parker County attending Elementary School at Garner ISD then Graduating from Peaster High School. After High School, he received an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Weatherford College and then a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Howard Payne University.
