Dispatch and Patrol are open 24 hours per day. Administration, Records, and Property/Evidence are open 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, excluding all city holidays.
Records is closed on Tuesdays but will be open Monday-Friday when we move to the new building.
You can now obtain copies of accident reports online. The process is simple and easy to follow. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This excludes periodic routine maintenance down time. The report must match the minimum information for the option selected on the Crash Report Search screen. There are four options for searching: Name, Driver License/Identification Card Number, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), TxDOT Crash ID. There is a fee for purchasing a crash report online. The cost for an Uncertified electronic copy is $6.00. The cost of a Certified electronic copy is $8.00. The cost of a Letter of "No Records" is free. Purchases must be made using a credit/debit card or electronic check (ACH). Accepted credit/debit cards include VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. You can obtain a public copy of an offense report in person between 8:00a.m. and 5:00p.m., Monday through Friday at Weatherford Police Department 801 Santa Fe Dr., Weatherford, Texas. We do not fax, email, or mail reports. Please keep in mind that limited information is considered “public.” Due to legal restrictions, certain information will be omitted from public copies of offense reports.
Your request must be in writing. Only written requests trigger a governmental body’s obligations under the Public Information Act. Your request should be for documents or other information that is already in existence. Governmental bodies are not required to answer questions, perform legal research, or comply with a continuing request to supply information on a periodic basis as such information is prepared in the future.

If there has been a hold placed on your vehicle you will need to contact the officer or detective that placed the hold in order to get it released. Yes. Contact the Police Department at 682-229-2612 at least two weeks in advance of your event. We will need to know approximately how many people will be at the event, their age range, when and where it will be held, what topics you would like for us to discuss and how long you would like our presentation to last.
Yes. People of any age can ride out with an officer, as long as their criminal history is clear and they, or their guardian, has completed a waiver of liability form.
The Weatherford Police Department is committed to maintaining a professional police force and department. We have both officers and civilian employees working for the department. If anyone has a complaint regarding an officer’s or civilian employee’s actions, he/she is encouraged to speak with a department representative about the incident. Everyone should know that they have the right to make a complaint and that no retaliation will come as a result of that complaint. The department will diligently investigate the complaint and implement corrective measures if they are warranted.

Yes. There are three different types of permits for persons requesting to solicit inside the city. A peddler permit, an itinerant vendor permit and a religious solicitor permit. Peddlers and itinerant vendors are charged a fee for this service while religious solicitors are not; however, religious solicitors must meet the charitable organizations guidelines set up by the state. Anyone who has a warrant or a criminal history for fraud and/or theft will not be given a permit. It is a crime to solicit within the city without the approved permit. You can either telephone police dispatch at 817-598-4300, or you can go online to the city webpage and click on the “citizen service request” icon on the left side of the page. Please give detailed information about the activities, the persons involved, vehicle descriptions (tag numbers, make and model of car), hours when activity occurs, etc., will assist investigators. Results may not be seen immediately. Cases involving conspiracy or high level drug trafficking can be complicated and time consuming.
Contact your local police department as soon as possible to generate a police report. Even if the Identity Theft has taken place in another city or state, you will need to show proof you have made contact with a police agency.
