Conservation Stages

PERMANENT WATERING RESTRICTION IS LIMITED TO TWICE A WEEK WITH AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER OR IRRIGATION SYSTEM, YEAR-ROUND.

 

Other measures apply: 

  • No outdoor watering allowed during the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., seven days a week. 
  • A 30-day watering variance will be granted to those installing new turf. Watering time restrictions still apply. Please fill out the New Turf Permit prior to installation, for approval.

Based on the City's Drought Plan, when needed the City will order to initiate different stages of the drought plan: 


STAGE 1- WATER WATCH/Twice a week watering

Watering times on assigned days are Midnight to 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to Midnight.

MondaysNo outdoor watering allowed
Tuesdays and FridaysCity, Local Government and School District offices
Wednesday and SaturdaysAddresses ending in an even number (0, 2, 4, 6, 8)
Thursdays and Sundays Addresses ending in an odd number (1, 3, 5, 7, 9)

Other water restrictions:

  • Hosing of buildings or other structures for purposes other than fire protection or surface preparation prior to painting. 
  • Washing of any motor vehicle, motorbike or other vehicle shall be limited to the use of hand held bucket or a hand-held hose equipped with a shutoff nozzle for quick rinses.


STAGE 2- WATER WARNING/Once a week watering

Watering times on assigned days are Midnight to 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to Midnight.

FridaysCity, Local Government and School District offices
SaturdaysAddresses ending in an even number (0, 2, 4, 6, 8)
Sundays Addresses ending in an odd number (1, 3, 5, 7, 9)

Other water restrictions:

  • Hosing of paved areas such as sidewalks, driveways, parking lots or other impervious surfaces, except to alleviate an immediate health or safety hazard. 
  • Refilling of swimming pools or ornamental fountains or ponds is prohibited, with the exception for ornamental fountains or ponds, if necessary to support aquatic life. 


STAGE 3- WATER EMERGENCY

All outdoor watering is prohibited including water uses prohibited in Stage 1 and Stage 2 are still prohibited.

Other water restrictions:

  • The draining, filling or refilling of swimming pools and Jacuzzi type pools. Existing private and public pools may add water to maintain pool levels. Swimming pools may not be filled with automatic valves.
