What We Do

The Engineering Division is responsible for providing engineering support to the to all departments and citizens within the City. Engineering provides the comprehensive system planning, engineering design, design review, and implementation systems in accordance with local, state, and federal rules and law and good engineering practices. Engineering duties and responsibilities include:

  • Master planning for street, drainage, water and wastewater systems
  • Project management and delivery for street, drainage, water and wastewater capital projects
  • Representation at predevelopment, development, and preconstruction meetings
  • Development review and inspection
  • Right of way inspections for streets, drainage systems, grading, sidewalks, and utilities.
  • Capital project inspections
  • Street, drainage, water and wastewater rehabilitation project coordination
  • Surveying and construction staking
  • Computer aided drafting and design
  • Design and manage in-house street, drainage, water and wastewater projects
  • Project cost estimating
  • Street and drainage issue investigation
  • Traffic calming analysis
