James has been with the City of Weatherford since January 2007 starting
as the city’s Director of Water/Wastewater and Engineering. He has also
served in several other capacities since joining the utility system in
2007, including utility engineer and Director of Planning and
Development. He currently serves as a voting member of the Region C
Water Planning group for the State of Texas. In this role, the group
prepares a regional water plan for a sixteen county group in North
Texas. This water plan is included as part of the State Water Plan. He
was selected to the position of Assistant City Manager May 1, 2015 and City Manager on December 14, 2019.
James holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the
University of Texas at Arlington and is a Licensed Professional Engineer
in the State of Texas.
Prior to joining the City of
Weatherford, James worked in consulting engineering. In this capacity,
James designed water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants,
water pump stations, wastewater lift stations and
distribution/collection lines.
James is married with three
children. James’ spouse is an employee of Peaster ISD and currently has
one child in the district. James is a member of North Side Baptist
Church and volunteers with the Peaster Youth Association.
