Support the Animals at the Weatherford Animal Shelter


We are grateful for the support of our donors, volunteers, and community partners. While the shelter’s budget covers core needs such as housing, food, and basic veterinary care, donations allow us to enhance the comfort, health, and well-being of the animals in our care.

Below are several ways you can help.

Make a Monetary Donation


Monetary donations support medical care, special programs, and shelter improvements that are not covered by the operating budget. Unless a specific purpose is noted, donations are placed in a restricted Animal Services fund and used only to benefit the animals.

Ways to give include one-time donations, monthly recurring gifts, planned or estate gifts, and multi-year commitments.

How Donations Are Used


Donations are not used for expenses already covered by the shelter budget such as staffing or utilities. Funds are directed toward projects and initiatives that improve animal care and shelter operations.

Current initiatives include:

  • Whisker Wednesdays spay and neuter program
  • Outreach and Educational Center
  • Isolation and Treatment Center

Recent donor-funded projects include:

  • Rees-Jones Medical and Surgical Center
  • Twelve Whisker Wednesday spay and neuter events
  • Shade structures over dog play yards
  • Expanded kennel and gate fencing
  • Livestock pasture fencing
