Commercial Project Permitting: Step-by-step Guide
Before submitting an application, gather the following materials. Requirements may vary depending on the scope of your project
- Property deed or proof of ownership
- Site plan showing your property boundaries and where the work will be done
- Detailed construction drawings/blueprints
- Product specifications for materials you'll use (scope of work)
- Contractor license information
Most new commercial projects begin with a Pre-Development Meeting to review requirements and next steps

- Fill out the applicable permit application form
- Pay the application fee (varies by project size and type)
- Submit all required documents
- All departments review your plans to ensure they meet safety codes and compliance
- This can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks

- Most permits expire after 6 months of inactivity

1. Log into the permit portal and go to "My Profile"
2. Select "Permit and Project Cases"
3. Find your applicable permit/project and select the green "View" button.
