Development Services
City Planners manage zoning, platting, site development permits, site plans, conditional use permits, and annexations. They help applicants navigate the development process by reviewing applications, ensuring compliance with City regulations, and aligning projects with Weatherford’s Comprehensive Plan. Public Works
The Public Works Department oversees infrastructure standards for both residential and commercial development. Assistant Director, Bill Smith, and Graduate Engineer, Brandon Fross, participate in predevelopment and preconstruction meetings. They offer feedback for water and wastewater service availability, coordinate system extensions as needed, and provide design review and inspection services based on the Engineering Design and Construction Manual (EDCM) and Subdivision Ordinance. These standards address roadways, drainage, water, wastewater, and other key infrastructure elements.

Fire Marshal
Fire Marshal Kevin Dozier reviews site and building plans for compliance with fire codes and life safety standards. He evaluates access, hydrant placement, fire lanes, and emergency response considerations—working closely with development teams to ensure public safety is built into every project.

Water Utilities
The Water Utilities Department manages the operation, maintenance, and planning of the City’s water and wastewater systems. The department ensures water and wastewater infrastructure improvements align with City standards and long-term utility goals. Angel Rudolph oversees initiatives to protect water quality and system integrity, including enforcement of grease interceptor, grit trap, pretreatment, and backflow prevention requirements for commercial and industrial developments.

Electric Utilities
Weatherford Electric Utilities provides electric service within the city and surrounding areas. Electrical Engineer James McGill works with developers on service availability, infrastructure planning, load calculations, and installation timelines. His team ensures that all new electric service connections meet system requirements and project deadlines.
